Call for Widening Participation

The EUROCALL 2020 conference theme is CALL for Widening Participation

The theme embraces the role of CALL in addressing the challenges and opportunities of a learner population that continues to diversify across educational and cultural contexts.  The theme also encompasses the role of CALL in widening access to informal language learning – in the (virtual) classroom, on the move, in the wild, thus widening the notion of the learning environment.

the 21st International CALL Research Conference

Notification of Postponement: Our XXIst International CALL Research Conference has been postponed to 2-4 July 2021 due to the current situation with the COVID-19 coronavirus. We will launch a new call for proposals in the Fall. All accepted abstracts remain accepted and all authors will be informed.

The theme of the conference will be Smart CALL. We define “Smart” as possessing three qualities: personalization, contextualization and socialization.

AELFE-TAPP 2020 International Conference

This joint AELFE-TAPP Conference brings together the 19th annual conference of AELFE (Asociación Europea de Lenguas para Fines Específicos/European Association of Languages for Specific Purposes) and the 2nd Conference of the Trans-Atlantic and Pacific Project (TAPP), a growing virtual exchange network that has developed transnational collaborative projects on specialised communication, translation and user experience.

27th EUROCALL 2019 Conference

The 27th EUROCALL conference will be hosted by UCLouvain in collaboration with KU Leuven, in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, from 28 to 31 August 2019.

The guiding thread for EUROCALL 2019 will be ‘CALL and complexity’. This theme is to be seen as constituting a challenge to be embraced. Languages are known to be intrinsically complex linguistically and so are the determinants of learning (additional) languages.

The XXth International CALL Research Conference

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 31 January 2019. Follow the instructions carefully.

The theme is “Social CALL”. The International CALL Research Conferences aim to put CALL on the map as a respectable and respected discipline. As exponents of this discipline, CALL researchers and practitioners do have considerable responsibilities. Intellectual, but also social responsibilities.
