Educators have myriad professional responsibilities, from fulfilling administrative duties and maintaining active research portfolios to keeping up to date with technology. As higher education becomes more global and international, these responsibilities increase even more. Yet, we sometimes forget that each of these duties is driven by a strong pedagogical imperative that also defines our in-class activity: the imperative to help our students improve as we encourage their cognitive and emotional growth. Are we teaching our students as effectively as we can? How can we better create learning environments that meet their unique needs and motivations both inside and outside of the classroom? How might the learning habits of our students offer us new ways to reflect on our role as educators?
Join us on Saturday June 8th, 2019 for a day of diverse discussion of these and other questions related to education with a global perspective in Japan and around the world.
